Originally released on cassette in 1984. Please forgive any limitations in the sound quality; it was produced by dubbing between two cassette decks. The recordings have been reproduced here exactly as offered on the original cassette, complete with the occasional tape drop-out and some hiss. Definitely a lo-fi vibe, but maybe that's part of its charm!

This is something of a concept album, inspired by a trip to Czechoslovakia, when it lay behind the Iron Curtain. And maybe we'd been reading 'Smiley's people'. Either way, think brutalist architecture and abandoned railway stations with lines of tanks ready to roll into Western Europe.

When originally released, this album was featured on the Inkeys cassette magazine. The final two tracks were originally released as a separate cassette single, but are included here as bonus tracks.

These recordings are dominated by the sound of the Korg Polysix, a synth well out of our price range (as impoverished students), but we managed to hire one for an intensive week, when all these recordings were made. As you can tell from these recordings, it's a sound that we loved. Other instrumentation included a partially-working Arp Odyssey borrowed from a friend (thanks Neil!), Roland SH101 and MC202, Roland TR606, Moog Prodigy, Casio MT30.
